Barnacle Foods is based in Juneau, Alaska, and has been crafting unique creations with kelp, spruce tips, rhubarb and other ingredients (think Bullwhip Hot Sauce, Kelp Chili Crisp, and more!) since 2016. Our mission: do good for the oceans, communities, and our collective future.

About the Role:
We’re on the hunt for a creative, witty, and trend-savvy Social Media and Marketing Coordinator to join our small-but-mighty marketing team. You'll own our social platforms, create drool-worthy content, and bring our brand’s voice to life while aligning day-to-day tasks with big-picture goals, as well support other brand building communications initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Be the voice, face, and strategy behind our socials (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts).

  • Plan, create, and post content (cooking on Alaska beaches, eye-catching recipes, cutting kelp as quickly as you can, getting up close and personal with our farming and harvesting partners, and sharing the stories of the places behind our unique ingredients).

    • Capture behind-the-scenes moments and visually stunning storytelling about our ingredients, places, and people.

  • Build community: respond to DMs, write captions in our brand voice, and work with our Customer Happiness Manager to ensure customers are staying happy.

  • Run affiliate programs, develop PR packages and partnerships, and track performance.

  • Share data + anecdotal insights with the team.

  • Be unashamed (and stoked!) to show up on camera or get creative while filming others.

  • Support other marketing and communications projects including copywriting for newsletters, developing website content, attending in-person events, developing organizational tools and strategies.

About You:

  • You love food, social media trends, and creating jaw-dropping visuals.

  • You’re tech-savvy and have an eye for storytelling.

  • Comfortable on camera and unafraid to experiment with creative content ideas.

  • Bonus: Graphic design, copywriting experience, cpg business experience, familiarity with editing tools like InShot.

Requirements:

  • Must live in Juneau, Alaska, with reliable transportation for off-site content creation.
